Press Release Body: Blaine, Washington, USA. December 7, 2007 -- BLAINE, WA,- Although most people would like to save money whenever possible, this may not be so when it comes to a sponsored wedding. This was the case over a week ago when some users from a very popular wedding message board became outraged when another mentioned that she was getting her wedding sponsored through a sponsorship company.
"There is a huge misconception out there on what a wedding sponsorship actually is," says Brian Leslie CEO of IFC Vancouver Holdings LTD, which owns and operates www.sponsoryourwedding.com , a site which is growing in popularity daily. " Some people I have heard from think that there are corporate banners in the church isles and logos on all the tables, making the event borderline tacky," explains Leslie, " In fact, one of the main concerns when dealing with our clients, is to ensure that there is little or no intrusion directly from sponsors on the actual wedding day." Although the company client base increases daily through its web site, each registered wedding couple seeking sponsorship is dealt with on a personal level. When a new wedding couple registers through the company web site, they are automatically issued a registration number and given a free sponsor web page with the couples information and back-story on it. "There are no fees ever charged up front for any couple," says Leslie "We get our fees like a real estate agent, based on performance." In fact, the company charges a commission, only when a deal is completed and only on the cost difference between the book price and what the company saved the wedding couple.
"Unfortunately what some people still do not grasp is that corporate sponsorship does not have to be tacky or intrusive to be effective for the potential sponsors" explains Leslie. "In fact, we never ask companies to provide cash to our wedding couples, it is always in the form of barter for equal marketing exposure"
The Company believes that, for the most part, their steady growth is due to people not being able to afford the high cost of a wedding and are looking for alternatives. Presently the company is representing and working with clients from the USA, Canada and South Africa. As for negative opinions from people on this controversial topic, Leslie says, " We will always have critics when we change tradition but I do believe most people see this change as a practical one."
